Delete your account
You can request deletion of your Footnotes account and associated data without needing to use the app.
Account deletion request
Email Footnotes support
Send a request from the email address connected to your Footnotes account. If you used Sign in with Apple and hid your email address, include the Apple private relay address associated with Footnotes instead.
Email hi@doppler.lifeUse the subject “Delete my Footnotes account.” Do not include notes, photos, recordings, passwords, or other private content in your message.
What happens next
- We verify that the request comes from, or is authorized by, the account holder.
- We schedule the account for deletion and end its active Footnotes sessions.
- You have 24 hours to cancel by signing in again. After that window, the deletion proceeds.
If you still have access to Footnotes, you can start the same process in Settings → Account → Delete account. That is the quickest option.
Data covered by an account-deletion request
Your request covers the Footnotes account profile and provider link, cloud notes and their titles, writing, timestamps, uploaded photos, audio and video, transcripts, generated results, location metadata, settings, and other data associated with that Footnotes account.
It does not remove copies you intentionally saved outside Footnotes, including items in your device’s Photos library, exports, device backups, or information held by another service you chose to use.
Data we may retain
We may retain the minimum information needed to process and document the request, protect the service against fraud or abuse, comply with law, or allow short-lived backup systems to expire. We will explain any retention that applies to your request when we confirm it.
